Investigation of the properties of selected magnetorheological fluids

Abstract: The paper presents the results of research on the rheological properties of magnetorheological (MR) fluids with different physical and chemical compositions. The research concerned complete compositions of MR fluids as well as base fluids (samples containing no particles with ferromagnetic properties). Magnetorheological fluids consisted mainly of a carrier liquid in the form of glycerin or OKS 352 silicone oil, with magnetite or iron pentacarbonyl particles. The paper demonstrates the effect of the selection … Show more

“…The test parameters were as follows: strain (γ = 0.001 to 1000%), changed according to the logarithmic profile (5 points/dec), angular velocity (ω = 101/s), value of the applied magnetic induction (B = 0, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 500 mT). The mag-netic field induction values were selected on the basis of previous studies discussed in the paper [28].…”
