Abstract

In 2017 and 2018, engineering applications and design process were given weight to with the updates carried out in the Physical Sciences Lesson Curriculum in Turkey. For the STEM education which is at the center of this update to reach its target, it is highly important that students accurately learn what engineers do, what their work field is, the characteristics they should carry and understand the nature of engineering. “…De forma explícita, conseguimos identificar que oito estudos adotaram e explicitaram a concepção de metacognição a partir da classificação de duas grandes componentes, o conhecimento do conhecimento e o controle executivo e autorregulador (Armstrong, Wallace & Chang, 2019;Dye & Stanton, 2017;Sadi, 2013;Sebesta & Speth, 2017;Snyder, Nietfeld & Linnenbrink-Garcia, 2015;Stanton, Dye & Johnson, 2019;Stanton, Neider, Gallegos & Clark, 2015;Sugiharto, Corebima & Susilo, 2018). Apenas um trabalho adotou uma concepção diferente, envolvendo uma terceira componente, a consciência das atividades mentais e conteúdos/conceitos (Yuruk, Selvi & Yakisan, 2017), tomando como referência, para tanto, os estudos de Sackes e Trundle (2016).
