Investigation of the effects of homogeneous and heterogeneous solar irradiations on multicrystal PV module under various configurations

Abstract: This research work investigates the power-voltage (P-V) and current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of multicrystal photovoltaic (PV) module, connected in series, parallel and series-parallel configurations. The modular characteristics of PV module have been performed under homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions. The experimental and simulation results indicate that for a given number of PV modules, the array configurations affect the maximum available output power and more local maxima are found under partial… Show more

“…The multi-crystal PV module under various configurations has been simulated in MATLAB-Simulink environment [11]. The Power-Voltage (P-V) & Current-Voltage (I-V) characteristics curve under 1000W/m 2 , 800W/m 2 , 600W/m 2 at constant temperature (T) 25°C is shown in Fig 5. Whenever there is a change in irradiation, power gets varied simultaneously.…”

“…The PV effect, which was initially identified by a researcher in the middle of the 1950s [2], is responsible for the conversion of solar rays into electricity in the solar collector, which is the key step in understanding the meaning of solar power. This system is essentially known as the emersion of an electrical voltage between two electrodes that are attached to a solid or liquid system by shining light onto this system [3]. In practice, photovoltaic devices include a pn-junction in a semiconductor.…”

“…A sample of submodules in addition with bypass diode are taken in the paper to evaluate Mismatch Losses (ML) in Series Parallel configuration PV array. The authors of [2] focuses mainly on series, parallel and SP PV system characteristics under various shading patterns. The parallel configuration gives maximum power output which is experimentally verified in the paper.…”
