In this study, a systematic and quantitative investigation of the pyrolysis characteristics of biomass was conducted in a fixed‐bed tubular reactor, and the influence of pyrolysis temperature on product yields, gas emission characteristics, and syngas compositions as well as physicochemical characterization of resulting solids (i.e., char/ash morphologies, mineral transformations, and elemental compositions) was explored in detail. The pyrolysis experiments were performed under N2, and the resulting solid characterization was detected by XRD, SEM, and EDX. The results indicated that with increasing the pyrolysis temperature from 400 to 800°C, the gaseous product yields increased from 54.9% to 66.7%, while the solid product yield showed a reverse trend, varying within 27.7%–40.5%. Meanwhile, the volume fraction of H2 in syngas increased from 7% to 33%, while the CO2 presented an opposite trend, suggesting that high temperature favored H2 formation and inhibited CO2 formation. On the whole, the CO and CO2 emissions were prior to CH4, H2, and CnHm in sequence. A large amount of sylvite (KCl), quartz (SiO2), dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2), and pyroxene (CaMgSi2O6) in the resulting solids were identified in crystal phases. Higher pyrolysis temperature had a significant influence on solid microstructures, resulting in a relatively higher slagging tendency due to low melting eutectics containing K‐rich and Ca‐rich minerals.

Brazil is among the world’s largest producers of green coconut, which contributes to inappropriate disposal and socioenvironmental impacts. Concomitantly, some of its coastal cities produce a great diversity of fish and large amounts of solid waste. This paper reports on the use of samples of fish scales (100FS) and green coconut shells (100GCS) and their mixtures in 75%FS:25%GCS (B25), 50%FS:50%GCS (B50), and 25%FS:75%GCS (B75) proportions and quantification of their Higher Heating Values (HHV) and Lower Heating Values (LHV), and Ultimate (UA) and Proximate Analyses (PA). Their thermal behavior was investigated by thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), whereas scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) were employed for analyses of their physicochemical and morphostructural properties. When compared to in natura samples, SEM images of the blends detected a structural disorder and a highly fibrous structure with an elongated chain and surface roughness. HHV were superior in samples with 100GCS (16.64 MJ kg−1), B75 (15.80 MJ kg−1), and B50 (14.98 MJ kg−1), and lower in B25 (14.16 MJ kg−1) and 100FS (13.03 MJ kg−1), with acceptable values for different biomasses. TG/DTG and DSC curves showed similarities among the samples, with the detection of their main thermoconversion stages. According to the data, the samples can be applied as renewable energy sources to mitigate socioecological illnesses and social vulnerabilities resulting from the archaic and inadequate management of solid waste.

Scales such as fish waste are considered worthless, even though they can be used as raw materials for collagen-making. This fish waste management process also contributes to reducing the problem of environmental pollution due to the disposal of fish waste that is not managed correctly. This study aims to determine the relationship between green knowledge upskilling (GKU) of employees, good manufacturing practice (GMP), and eco-performance (EP). The research site was determined by conducting a census of the 35 personnel at PT Marine Biogel Indonesia in Boyolali. The research model uses structural equations (SEM), and the analysis method uses partial least squares. The results show that GKU has a positive and significant effect on GMP. Second, GKU has a positive and significant effect on EP. Third, GMP has a positive and significant effect on EP. Finally, GKU positively and significantly affects EP mediated by GMP. Implementing eco-friendly production practices can increase the utilization of fishing industry waste on a large scale.
