Investigation of Systemic Immune Inflammation (SII) Index as an Indicator of Morbidity and Mortality in Type 2 Diabetic Retinopathy Patients in a 4-Year Follow-up Period

Abstract

Background and Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the SII index and the micro-macro complications and death that develop in the first year and the following 3 years, following the calculation of the index in type 2 diabetic retinopathy patients. Materials and Methods: This study was performed retrospectively with 523 type 2 diabetic retinopathy patients admitted to the endocrinology outpatient clinic of our hospital between January 2019 and December 2019. The demographic, and clinical characteristics of the patients were evaluated using descriptive statistics.
