Investigation of Standalone Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping System With Reduced Switch Multilevel Inverter

Abstract: Solar photovoltaic-powered water pumping systems are becoming very successful in regions where there is no opportunity for connecting the electric grid. The photovoltaic technology converts solar energy into electrical energy for operating direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) motor-based water pump. In the case of a solar AC motor water pump, it engages two energy conversion stages (DC-DC and DC-AC) in the power conditioning unit. This usually resulted in increased size, cost, and complexity and dec… Show more

“…The second model is a water pumping system with a singlestage which doesn't consist of a DC-DC converter, so that the DC-AC inverter works with a tracking algorithm that allows it to perform the function of the DC-DC converter. At the same time, it converts the voltage to an alternating voltage, to feed the pump paid by IM, with the imposition of connecting the solar panels in sequential order [11].…”

“…Figures 9,10,and 11 demonstrate that the torque of the induction machine corresponds to the applied load torque using FOC, DTC, and DTC-SVM techniques, respectively, in the solar water pumping system, which is affected by variations in radiation. Initially, the pump load is subjected to a radiation intensity of 1000 W/m 2 .…”

“…To abridge the collector and increase its efficiency, direct absorption solar collector (DASC) has been suggested. DASC absorbs large amounts of solar radiation from the Sun, meaning temperature distribution is uniform throughout the surface and results in a small amount of heat loss as compared to surface-based collectors (Arefin, 2019;Poompavai and Kowsalya, 2020). The study of direct absorption solar thermal collectors has been carried out using a composite nanofluids solution (Gorji and Ranjbar, 2017;Wang et al, 2017).…”
