“…The azo-dyes are very interesting organic compounds that have an azobenzene group, which under thermal or photo exposition might lead to cis-trans transformation. Compounds such as methyl orange, 2-[-2-(6-nitro benzothiazolyl)azo]- imidazole (NBTAI), HL1 [2-Hydroxy-3-((5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)diazenyl)-1-naphth aldehyde], HL2 [3-((1,5-Dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1Hpyrazol-4-yl)diazenyl)-2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde], 5-(quinoly-8-azo)pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione (L1) and 5-(quinoly-8-azo)-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4,6-trione (L2), 2-[2−(1-Hydroxy-4-Chloro phenyl) azo]- imidazole (HClPAI) create coloured complexes with many metal ions Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Cr (III), Mn (II), Fe (III), Ru (II) and Pd(II) [ 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 ].…”

“…This event can be explained by the changing in the electron density of the PR as a result of complexation. [10,17] The new bands was appeared in the Co(II), Fe(II) and Zn(II) complexes at 840, 859 and 825 cm À 1 respectively, due to presence of coordinated water molecule. [21] Finally the spectra of metal complexes showed new bands at the range 569-539 cm À 1 and 472-461 cm À 1 due to presence of MÀ N and MÀ O bands except for Ru(II) complex.…”

“…[20] The À N=NÀ peak of ligand appeared at 1598 cm À 1 , which gets shifted to higher freqency values by 2-6 cm À 1 in all metal complexes. [10] Upon coordination, the electron density of N atom of À N=NÀ group gets altered to metal ions and this indicated the complexation of nitrogen atom to metal ions. The C=N stretching vibration bands that on the PR shown a shift by 3-7 cm À 1 in the Fe(II), Co(II) and Ru(II) complexes, and it was observed at low wave numbers (See exper.…”
