Investigation of solar influence on the terrestrial processes: Activities in Serbia

Abstract: In this contribution, we have summarized the current stage and perspective of cooperation between different scientific institutions in Serbia in the field of the investigation of the solar influences and effects on our planet. These activities involved 14 researchers from 7 institutions. The investigations are based on experimental, theoretical and numerical work and results are published in numerous papers in respected international journals. In order to make better connection and coordination of relevant act… Show more

“…1 as very flat amplitude and phase time evolutions, as recorded by the AWESOME VLF receiver [12], which correspond to time evolution of the X-radiation time evolution and this study is an extension of complementary research given in [7,8] related to the unperturbed conditions and relaxation period, respectively. Due to the first reason this flare has also been considered in several previous investigations (see [13] and references therein). One of the open questions of this study is related to research of the radiation and atmospheric properties on the electron reduction in the considered flare phase.…”

“…This actually makes it impossible to solve this task by classical neural networks. There are some ways to overcome this problem: We can use either a complete overview of all the possible models to identify the most important lags for factors (Radovanović et al, 2018;Srećković et al, 2017), or use recurrent neural networks (RNNs) that have been developed specifically for this class of tasks (Miljanovic, 2012;Radovanović, 2018).…”

“…It is very difficult to estimate how the changes in solar activities can affect the dynamics of many environmental processes. The previous studies found statistical connections between the occurrences of forest fires in various regions worldwide and the emissions from the Sun [1][2][3][4][5]. The main hypothesis is that the emissions of high-speed and high-energy particles from coronary holes and/or energetic regions with geo-effective positions precede the fires that happen at the same time but in geographically different regions [6].…”
