Investigation of printed slot antennas based on Euclidean geometries

Abstract: Euclidean and fractal terms are mathematically and physically important terms in antenna design, but rarely reported studies had discussed these terms together in antenna design in their texts. This paper first gives an overview of Euclidean and fractal antennas with useful and satisfactory facts. Four printed slot antennas are then studied using Euclidean slot shapes printed in the ground plane with and without Euclidean patches using FR4 substrate. These antennas are employed to investigate their suitability… Show more

“…In references 20 , 21 , a wide band slot-loaded patch antenna suitable for a low-power wireless transmission system is discussed. There are many configurations and types of slots that can be combined with the simple patch antenna to influence the antenna operation 22 . In our case, having a single operating frequency range that would cover the WiFi 2.4 GHz frequency band is desirable.…”

“…A printed slot antenna with defects in the ground plane that produce five bands was successfully designed in 6 . Different Euclidean slot forms printed on the ground plane with and without Euclidean patches were used to investigate printed slot antennas 7 . Two rectangular slots defected on the ground plane and five strips located inside the two slots were employed to operate at four bands (2.44–2.79, 5.88–6.39, 7.5–8.25, 11.27–12.69) GHz in 8 .…”
