Investigation of exotic states of 13C at low energy

Abstract: The differential cross-sections of the elastic and inelastic [Formula: see text]C scattering have been measured at E[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]MeV. The radii of the exited states: 3.09 [Formula: see text] and 8.86 [Formula: see text] MeV were determined using the Modified Diffraction Model. The radii of these excited states are larger than that of the ground state of [Formula: see text]C, confirming the suggestion that the 8.86 [Formula: see text] MeV state could be an analog of the Hoyle state in [… Show more

“…This value is ~ 1.20 times larger than that for the ground state. Also, in Table 1 the radius for the excited state of 8.86 MeV of the 13 C nucleus is showed, which is also an analog of the Hoyle state (7.65 MeV) in 12 C [9,11]. The comparison of rms radii of excited states of 11 B, 12 C and 13 C nuclei is given in Table 1.…”

“…It is seen that the coupling of channels worsened the description of elastic scattering in the region of angles up to 60 degrees. Probably, to eliminate this problem, it is necessary to include additional processes in the coupling: reactions and inelastic channels with excitation of other levels of the 13 С nucleus [17][18][19][20][21].…”
