Investigation of a polyelectrolyte degradation with viscometry

Abstract: Ultrasonic degradation of a cationic polyelectrolyte, polydiallyl dimethylammonium chloride in aqueous solutions was investigated at 25°C for the first time according to the literature. Degradations were performed at a varying molar concentration of NaCl (0.05-0.50-1.00 M), using different sodium salts with constant molar concentrations (Na2SO4, NaNO3, NaBr) in the solution and at medium pH values of 1, 3 and 5.
