Kinerja top cyclone separator dapat dipengaruhi oleh ukuran dan pemilihan bentuk dari cyclone. Perancangan top cyclone separator yang memiliki biaya operasi rendah memiliki beberapa keuntungan, antara lain kemampuan untuk beroperasi pada suhu tinggi dan pemeliharaannya yang sangat mudah. Salah satu metode yang sering dipilih untuk meningkatkan produksi klinker adalah dengan melakukan modifikasi pada top cyclone separator. Peningkatan produksi klinker dapat terjadi sebagai akibat dari peningkatan kinerja alat, yang kemudian dapat menghasilkan penghematan energi dalam proses tersebut. Tulisan ini mengulas tentang perancangan geometri cyclone secara sederhana dan ekonomis untuk meningkatkan efisiensi perangkat tersebut. Pemilihan rasio dimensi high efficiency Stairmand dan penggunaan Metode Muschelknautz (MM) dalam menghitung kinerja top cyclone separator dianggap sebagai metode komprehensif yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengumpulan yang tinggi. Setelah melakukan analisis perhitungan menggunakan Metode Muschelknautz dengan rasio geometri Stairmand, diperoleh efisiensi pengumpulan sebesar 0,966 dan pressure drop sebesar 159,33 Pa untuk top cyclone separator.
