Investigating the Role of Physical Education in Physical Activity Promotion: An Italian Multicenter Study

Abstract: To enhance its role in health promotion, PE teaching should be improved by increasing the time allocated to PE and by strengthening the provision of school-based extracurricular PA.

“…The regression analysis showed that male gender was associated to unhealthy nutritional status and inactive lifestyle, while attending the Neapolitan university seems to be associated with higher BMI and screen time but not with insufficient PA.
