Abstract: Background Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) nasal colonization is associated with an increased risk of infection disease. Low muscle mass has been linked to higher levels of inflammatory markers and weakened immune response, which may impact the susceptibility to nasal MRSA colonization.
