“…Portanto, a prevalência de baixa resiliência em pacientes com doenças reumáticas autoimunes evidenciada no presente estudo mostrou-se semelhante à descrita por outros trabalhos, corroborando a percepção de que um percentual significativo (quase um terço) dos pacientes com doenças como LES, AR e ES estão vulneráveis ao impacto negativo desse fator na sua evolução clínica. Baixa resiliência está associada à maior risco de doenças crônicas, como diabetes tipo 2, hipertensão, insônia (20)(21)(22) ; desfechos psicopatológicos negativos, como menor capacidade de resolução de problemas, reduzida autoconfiança, menos qualidade de vida, menor sensação de bem-estar (23,24 ) e até mesmo má adaptação de respostas neurobiológicas ao estresse (25,26) . Possíveis causas para a prevalência considerável de baixa resiliência em doenças reumáticas autoimunes seriam a presença de dores crônicas, alterações físicas e deformidades consequentes da doença ou da terapêutica (fator que tem forte influência na autoestima), necessidade de uso contínuo de medicamentos e assistência médico-hospitalar e os custos financeiros decorrentes disto, limitações laborais, queda da qualidade de vida global.…”
