Abstract: Water-soluble mining was invariably associated with surface subsidence, which in some cases escalated to the movement, deformation, and even collapse of the overlying rock layers, triggering grave subsidence calamities. The caprock of the salt-bearing strata in the Longgui salt rock mining area was closely adjacent to the third aquifer, which mainly consisted of fractured, porous, high-permeability materials such as mudstone conglomerates, rendering the geological conditions highly complex.
