Abstract:The lifting surfaces of supersonic flying vehicles generally have sharp leading edges. The airfoil sections of such wings produce the desired lift and, more importantly, yield less drag compared with the conventional blunt airfoils commonly used with subsonic flying vehicles. It is evident that, under given flight conditions, the aerodynamic characteristics of a supersonic airfoil namely, its aerodynamic coefficients are strongly dependent on its geometry. More interestingly, the variation in these coefficient… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
