Being able to read at a fluent rate confers many advantages on an individual in both educational and wider social contexts throughout life. To be a fluent reader means that the individual can sustain high accuracy while reading at a rate appropriate to the material and the setting, and implies the development of automaticity in the cognitive processes involved in reading. Fluency has not, however, been the focus of much research. In this study, an observational learning technique — feedforward video self-modelling (FFVSM) — was used to improve children's reading fluency. Eleven primary (elementary) school children aged between 72 and 108 months, four girls and seven boys, viewed edited video footage of themselves seemingly reading a difficult text at a fluent rate six times over a 2-week period. Reading performance (accuracy, comprehension and rate) was measured at pre- and post-test using the Neale Analysis of Reading Ability, and fluency and comprehension scores were measured across the intervention period using the Science Research Associates Reading Laboratory (SRA) graded reading texts. The results showed that the majority of the children improved their reading fluency, comprehension and accuracy as well as reader self-perception (a proxy measure of self-efficacy). These positive results suggest that FFVSM could be a rapid, cost-effective intervention to be used within educational settings to promote fluent reading.

Background: Peer teaching is an effective educational approach for nursing students. This prepares the students for their future roles as educators, builds their self esteem, and enhances their psychomotor skills and their attitudes. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of peer teaching in a nursing administration course on undergraduate nursing students' performance. Methods:The study was conducted at the Nursing Administration Department, Faculty of Nursing, Zagazig University using a quasi-experimental nonrandomized comparative design. All 338 nursing students enrolled in the 4th year were invited to participate, and 333 (266 females and 67 males) agreed. These were divided into two groups: study and control. Three tools were used for data collection: Student's Clinical Evaluation checklist, Clinical Teaching Preference Questionnaire, and Peer Teaching Experience Questionnaire. Results:The study findings indicate that the performance score of the nursing students who learned by peer teaching will be significantly better than those trained by assistant teaching staff in traditional clinical sessions. The students in this group agreed upon many benefits of the peer teaching both as providers (teachers) and consumers (students). Conclusion:The study findings add to the literature supporting the use of peer teaching approach in nursing education practical training. The approach is beneficial for enhancing students' acquisition of skills with better performance, in addition to building-up their teaching abilities, which are integral part of their future nursing role.

The peer who teaches to their mates is peer tutoring. It is a common instructional strategy used in classrooms. The aim of this study is know whether there is any improvement in achievement marks of tutors and tutees after the process of peer tutoring. Class VIII students were selected as sample for the present experimental study. The design of this experimental study was a two group parallel design such as one control and one experimental group with pre-test and post-test. Tutors of experimental group were trained to act as tutor for this research purpose. Pre-test and post-test marks of both control and experimental group were analyzed by using 't' test. The result revealed that, the experimental group students (both tutors and tutees) exhibited a remarkable improvement in learning who received the content through peer tutoring than the control group students who were taught by the researcher through traditional way of teaching.
