Investigating Open Issues in Swarm Intelligence for Mitigating Security Threats in MANET

Abstract: <span>The area of Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) has being a demanded topic of research for more than a decade because of its attractive communication features associated with various issues. This paper primarily discusses on the security issues, which has been still unsolved after abundant research work. The paper basically stresses on the potential features of Swarm Intelligence (SI) and its associated techniques to mitigate the security issues. Majority of the previous researches based on SI has used An… Show more

“…TCP CUBIC uses a cubic increase function in terms of the elapsed time since the last loss event. In order to provide fairness to Standard TCP, CUBIC also behaves like Standard TCP when the cubic window growth function is slower than Standard TCP [61]. Figure 9 shows the comparison of TCP CUBIC and TCP BIC.…”

“…The development of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) becomes attractive because it deals with various issues [1] and has quick characteristics, capable of managing topology changes independently, costeffective of dissemination [2], and can apply to emergency locations such as natural disaster recovery [3], military operations, and monitoring health. The challenges and problems that occur in MANET are dynamic topology changes, limited energy consumption due to battery use [4][5][6], and communications built between one node with another node without being supported by existing infrastructure [7][8][9].…”
