Background: Good posture is characterised by neutral spinal alignment with high physiological and biomechanical efficiency together with low stress and strain. The purpose of this study was to assess the validity and reproducibility of the adult version of the Aristegui questionnaire in university students. Materials and methods: The study was conducted in two parts. The first part assessed content validity of the questionnaire where five experts provided their feedback on the content of the questionnaire. The second part evaluated the reliability of the questionnaire among a convenience sample of 10 university students in a test–retest study. Results: The content validity of the questionnaire was found to be excellent. Twenty-five out of twenty-seven items had an item content validity index higher than 0.79 (appropriate) and the scale content validity index was 0.93 (high). For the reliability, almost perfect agreements were found for nine items, substantial agreement for three questions, moderate agreement for one item and fair agreement for one item. The kappa coefficients ranged from 0.00 (slight) to 1.00 (perfect) for the items on behaviour. Conclusions: The questionnaire was found to be a valid and reliable tool to measure the university students’ knowledge regarding ergonomics and posture and postural behaviour as well as prevalence of musculoskeletal pain.

The study aims to measure the level of students' understanding of ergonomics' principles with video. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method with the survey method. This research involved six students of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Education, especially Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The data were obtained using a gradual questionnaire. The first stage before the respondent watched the learning video and after watching the ergonomic learning video for 15 minutes. The questionnaires were distributed randomly to students without choosing a gender. The instrument was compared before and after watching the video. The instrument was then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis whereby the frequency and percentage are used to analyzed data. Learning video helps students to understand basic ergonomics principles easily. Input from the concept of this video is made to make fun and easy to understand by students. This study's purpose is achieved because it measures students' knowledge about the principle of ergonomics increasing after watching a video. The results show that student knowledge increases after watching the video Basic Ergonomics Principles at Work. Video learning can help students design a better understanding of basic ergonomics principles compared to entering the classroom.

Çalışmanın amacı, masa başı çalışanlarda üst ekstremite fonksiyonel durumunu değerlendirmek ve üst ekstremite fonksiyonel durumun; ofis ergonomisi farkındalığı, uyku kalitesi ve yaşam kalitesi düzeyi arasındaki ilişkisini belirlemektir. Çalışmaya 18-60 yaş aralığında olan, haftada en az 30 saat süre ile en az 2 yıl masa başında çalışan, ve üst ekstremite fonksiyonelliğini etkileyen yapısal, nörolojik ve sistemik herhangi bir problemi olmayan 96 birey dahil edilmiştir. Bireylerin demografik ve fiziksel özellikleri kaydedilip, fonksiyonel durumun değerlendirilmesi için Hidrolik El Dinamometresi, skapular bölge ve üst ekstremite kas endurans testleri ve Üst Ekstremite Fonksiyonel İndeksi-15 (ÜEFİ-15) kullanılmıştır. Masa başı çalışan bireylerin ofis ergonomisi farkındalığı Ofis Ergonomi Farkındalık Anketi (OEFA) ile, uyku kalitesi Pitssburgh Uyku Kalitesi İndeksi (PUKİ) ile, yaşam kalitesi ise SF-12 Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Yaş ortalaması 38 olan ve %20’si kadın cinsiyetinde olan bireylerin kavrama kuvveti ile uyku kalitesi ve yaşam kalitesinin azaldığı belirlenmiştir.
