High penetration of residential photovoltaic (PV) in lowvoltage distribution networks (LVDN) makes the unbalance issue more sever due to the asymmetry of generation/load characteristic in different phases, and may lead to infeasible operation of the whole network. Phase switching device (PSD), which can switch the connected phase of a residential load as required, is viable and efficient equipment to help address this issue. This paper, based on three-phase power flow (TUPF) formulation, aims to investigate the benefit of PSD on improving the operation feasibility of LVDN. The linear model of TUPF with PSD is presented to effectively take the flexible device into account, which can be conveniently used to seek the PSD positions that lead to a viable operation strategy of the original problem when infeasibility is reported by the traditional iteration-based algorithm. Case study based on a practical LVDN in Australia demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed method.

In this work, the FCC algorithm has been applied to the power problem. Real power loss reduction, voltage deviation minimization, and voltage stability enhancement are the key objectives of the proposed work. The proposed FCC algorithm has been modeled based on the competition, communication among teams, and training procedure within the team. The solution has been created based on the team, players, coach, and substitution tactic. A preliminary solution of the problem is produced, and the initialization of the teams depends on the team’s formation with substitute tactics. Mainly fitness function for each solution is computed, and it plays an imperative role in the process of the algorithm. With the performance in the season, promotion and demotion of the teams will be there. Most excellently performed teams will be promoted to a senior division championship, and the most poorly performed team will be demoted to the top lower division league. Ideas and tactics sharing procedure, repositioning procedure, Substitution procedure, seasonal transmit procedure, Promotion and demotion procedure of a team which plays in the confederation cup has been imitated to solve the problem. Similar to an artificial neural network, a learning phase is also applied in the projected algorithm to improve the quality of the solution. Modernization procedure employed sequentially to identify the best solution. With and without voltage stability (L-index) FCC algorithm is evaluated in IEEE 30, bus system. Then the Proposed FCC algorithm has been evaluated in standard IEEE 14, 57,118,300 bus test systems without L-index. Power loss minimization and voltage stability index improvement have been achieved with voltage deviation minimization.

In this paper, the Stock Exchange Algorithm (SEA), the Product Demand-Availability (PDA) algorithm, and the Affluent and Penurious (AP) algorithm are proposed to solve the power loss reduction problem. In the SEA approach, selling and buying shares in the stock exchange was imitated to design the algorithm. Stockholders are classified as Privileged, Average or Weak based on their fitness value. The PDA optimization algorithm is based on the consumer demand and availability of a product in the market. The Affluent and Penurious algorithm mimics the social behavior of people. The gap parameter (G) is defined to indicate the growing gap between affluent and penurious people when affluent people increase their wealth. The proposed Stock Exchange Algorithm, Product Demand-Availability optimization algorithm and the Affluent and Penurious optimization algorithm were tested in the IEEE 30 bus system. Real power loss minimization, voltage deviation minimization, and voltage stability index enhancement were successfully attained.
