Abstract:This study focuses on NMC 811 (LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2), a promising material for high-capacity batteries, and investigates the challenges associated with its use, specifically the formation of the cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) layer due to chemical reactions. This layer is a consequence of the position of the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (LUMO) energy level of NMC 811 that is close to the Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital (HOMO) level of liquid electrolytes, resulting in electrolyte oxidation and c… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
