Abstract:This paper summarizes the history and contributions of information behaviour scholars in North America. Scholars who made foundational contributions to the field, as well as newer scholars, are highlighted. The paper also notes the roles played by North American scholars in important venues for information behaviour research, such as SIG USE in the Association for Information Science and Technology, and the Information Seeking in Context conference.
