Investigação Da Degradação Do Fenol Em Meio Aquoso Utilizando Peróxido De Hidrogênio E Irradiação Solar

Abstract

This work aimed to investigate the removal efficiency of tartrazine dye from aqueous solution using Cu 2 FeSnS 4 as a heterogeneous catalyst in the photo-Fenton process. In order to evaluate the effects of independent variables on the dye decolorization and determining the optimum conditions, a 2 3 CCRD (Central Composite Rotatable Design) followed by RSM (Response Surface Methodology) approach was employed. Experiments were carried out as a function of pH (from 2 to 4), catalyst concentration (from 0.05 to 0.35 g L -1 ) and H 2 O 2 concentration (from 3 to 13 mmol L -1 ). The results revealed a good agreement between the model predicted and the experimental values. Under the optimized conditions, tartrazine decolorization efficiency was 99.59%. Therefore, the photo-Fenton process using Cu 2 FeSnS 4 as a catalyst was proved to be feasible for the decolorization of tartrazine dye.
