In the battery management system, it is important to accurately and efficiently estimate the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion batteries, which generally requires the establishment of a equivalent circuit model of the battery, whose accuracy and rationality play an important role in accurately estimating the state of lithium-ion batteries. The traditional single order equivalent circuit models do not take into account the changes of impedance spectrum under the action of multiple factors, nor do they take into account the balance of practicality and complexity of the model, resulting the low accuracy and poor practicability. In this paper, the theory of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is used to guide and improve the equivalent circuit model. Based on the analysis of the variation of the high and intermediate frequency range of the impedance spectrum with the state of charge and temperature of the battery, a variable order equivalent model (VOEM) is proposed by Arrhenius equation and Bayesian information criterion (BIC), and the state equation and observation equation of VOEM are improved by autoregressive (AR) equations. Combined with the unscented Kalman filter (UKF), a SOC online estimation method is proposed, named VOEM-AR-UKF. The experimental results show that the proposed method has high accuracy and good adaptability.

Voltage waveform improvement has been the object of several investigations for many years and a manifold of different solutions have been proposed to reduce the harmonic content in Voltage Source Inverters (VSI) power application. In many cases this improvements have been obtained by modifying the reference voltage modulating signal. The recent introduction of cardinal B-spline functions, used as carrier signals, has given rise to a new modulation technique whose main characteristic is a lower value of the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). After the discussion on the B-Spline modulation principle and on its computational effort, a performance comparisons is carried out by means of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) index and single significant harmonics investigation of experimental data. All comparisons are carried out taking both the reference voltage and the Root Mean Square (RMS) values of the output voltage into account showing how these two choices leads to different conclusions in terms of performance

Unlike existing pulse-width modulation (PWM) techniques, such as sinusoidal PWM and random PWM, the wavelet PWM (WPWM) technique based on a Harr wavelet function can achieve a high fundamental component for the output voltage, low total harmonic distortion, and simple digital implementation. However, the original WPWM method lacks output voltage control. Thus, the practical application of the WPWM technique is limited. This study proposes an improved WPWM technique that can regulate output voltage amplitude with the addition of a parameter. The relationship between the additional parameter and the output voltage amplitude is analyzed in detail. Experimental results verify that the improved WPWM exhibits output voltage control in addition to all the merits of the WPWM technique.
