Nevertheless, eight of the 21 plants namely Aegle marmelos, Azadirachta indica, Cajanus cajan, Coriandrum sativum, Enhydra fluctuans, Ficus hispida, Syzygium cumini and Tinospora cordifolia found in the current survey were also recorded to be used for diabetes in an ethnobotanical survey amongst the ethnic groups inhabiting in other parts of the world (Grover et al, 2002;Chhetri et al, 2005;Tahraoui et al, 2007;Aboa et al, 2008;Gbolade, 2009;Khan and Yadava, 2010).
