Intrusive memories of trauma in PTSD and addiction

Abstract: The connection between trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use has been well documented. It seems that many, but not all individuals who use substances have a history of trauma or ongoing traumatic events in their lives.
