Introduction to the proposed standard for the elementary functions in Ada

Abstract

Since the conclusion of its three-year development period in 1989, the proposed Standard for a Generic Package of Elementary Functions for Ada has been working its way through a hierarchy of committees towards achieving the status of a secondary ISO standard in the Ada area . Thi s article introduces the contents of the proposed standard and discusses some of the decisions that influenced it .
