“…Many scholars have followed Boyer's brief introduction of the scholarship of teaching to define, defend, and develop it further, including lists of criteria (Glassick, Huber, & Maeroff, 1997; Huber & Morreale, 2002), definitions and distinctions (Bernstein & Bass, 2005; Shulman, 2004; Shulman & Hutchings, 1999), taxonomies of project types (Hutchings, 2000; Nelson, 2003), guides and illustrations of how it's done (Bishop‐Clark & Dietz‐Uhler, 2012; Chick, 2012; Gurung & Schwartz, 2008; McKinney, 2007), and countless explorations of its use, value, and even urgency (Bernstein, 2013; Huber & Hutchings, 2005; Pace, 2004; Trigwell, 2013).
