Introducing a Novel Method for Computing High-Compression Pressure of Carbon Nanotubes

Abstract:Research has thoroughly examined how individual carbon nanotubes and bundles behave when compressed, using various equations of state such as Murnaghan, Kholiya, and Usual-Tait. A new equation based on the third-order inverse exponential potential function was also utilized. Results showed that the Kholiya equation did not accurately explain the compression behavior of the nanotubes, while the Murnaghan and Usual-Tait equations provided better results.
