“…A hypothesis that could explain these effects is that SNPs belonging to this group "positive modifiers" might cause a reduction in platelets' activity, and therefore contribute to increasing the risk of bleeding. Platelets play a fundamental role in homeostasis and platelet rich plasma are suggested to treat specific hemorrhages such as hemorrhagic cystitis (Masieri et al, 2019). In fact, the genetic variant rs1387180 was associated earlier with decreased platelets activity in diabetic patients on aspirin treatment (Postula et al, 2013).…”

“…6 patients had complete response, 3 partial response and one no response. It seems to be a promising treatment option but related to a higher risk of complication compared to our technique with a similar success rate but in a highly selected group of patients (25). In summary our study showed that the use of FG in HC patients is safe and effective with higher success rates and lower complications than other second line treatments.…”

“…Recently, Masieri et al reported their experience with intravesical PRP in 10 allogeneic HSCT recipients with refractory grades 3 or 4 HC. 74 8 journals.sagepub.com/home/tai Formalin Exposure of the bladder mucosa to formalin causes the precipitation of proteins which facilitates bleeding cessation. However, it leads to exacerbation of suprapubic pain, bladder scarring and subsequently bladder contractures that subsequently result in vesico-ureteric reflux.…”
