Intravascular retrieval of broken guide wire from the ascending aorta after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty

Abstract: Percutaneous coronary angioplasty of a proximal right coronary artery stenosis was attempted, but the guide wire broke. The distal portion remained in the right coronary artery and the proximal portion in the ascending aorta. A Dotter retrieval catheter was used to snare the wire, and the intra-aortic portion was removed.
