Interestingly, a higher comorbidity trend of readmissions over time was seen. Earlier reports showed an elevated risk for common comorbidities among moderate to severe psoriasis patients, particularly cardiometabolic diseases. 5 Our finding may be due to the positive relationship between psoriasis duration and comorbidity likelihood, 6 or possibly due to increasing prevalence of medical comorbidities in the general US population over time.Sepsis, infections and cardiopulmonary disorders were common reasons for readmission in our study. This study provides information to target interventions to reduce readmissions among psoriasis patients, such as infection prevention strategies, screening and improved long-term management of cardiopulmonary comorbidities.Limitations include possible coding errors associated with administrative databases, lack of data on ethnicity, psoriasis disease severity, the type of treatments received, medication compliance, biologic use and lack of subgroup analysis on the psoriasis type.
