Intrathyroid cystic parathyroid adenoma: A rare case of hyperparathyroidism

Abstract: A case is presented of a 52-year-old man with a swelling in the neck and dysphagia resulting from an intrathyroid cystic parathyroid adenoma. Hypercalcaemia and unusually high parathyroid hormone levels were detected preoperatively. The adenoma was removed by partial hemithyroidectomy. The literature is reviewed.
