“…Hybrid PET-CT can guide the surgeon to the lymph node basin that contains the SLN. Fluorescence imaging cameras such as the Fluobeam 38 can guide the surgical exposure and visual identification of the SLN. 39 This can be performed with wide-bandwidth cameras and laparoscopic cameras during robotic-assisted surgery.…”

“…A peptide like scaffold molecule RAFT-c-(-RGDfK-) 4 has shown to target avb3 integrin in vivo and in vitro [66][67][68][69][70]. This peptide has been conjugated to multiple fluorophores or coupled with quantum dots to visualize avb3 integrin positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma [75][76][77][78][79]. Transferrin receptor (TfR) is also appreciated to overexpress in the head and neck cancer and often associated with poor prognosis [80].…”

“…Appropriate processing nonetheless makes it possible to reconstruct an image of the fluorophore concentration with sufficient precision, thereby enabling visualization, for example, of an ovarian tumor induced in a mouse. This processing can thus guide the surgeon toward the target [17]. Another interesting example might be detection of the surgical margins during a radical prostatectomy.…”
