Intrakorneale granulomatöse Entzündung

Abstract: A monosymptomatic, intracorneal, granulomatous infiltration is very rare and has not previously been described in a case of lattice corneal dystrophy. This may have been a case of xanthogranuloma or sarcoidosis. Strangely, the granuloma occurred only several months after PTK; nevertheless, a pathogenetic connection seems unlikely.

“…12 Noncaseating granulomas have also been reported in a patient with lattice stromal corneal dystrophy 8 months after undergoing phototherapeutic keratectomy. 13 Xanthogranuloma has rarely been found in adults, and it would present as a solitary yellowish nodule at the limbus, which was not seen in our case. Based on microbiological staining, there was no evidence of infectious keratitis caused by Acanthamoeba or fungi in our case.…”
