Abstract:The intervertebral disc (IVD) is a complex biological structure that ensures the spine strength, stability, mobility, and flexibility. This is achieved due to its biphasic nature which is attained by its solid phase (annulus fibrosus) and fluid phases (nucleus pulposus).
