Bulgular: Çalışmamıza katılan 223 annenin yaş ortalaması 32,2±5,5 idi. Annelerin %41,3'ü (s=92) 12 yıldan daha fazla eğitimli, %92,4'ü (s=206) evli ve %87,0'si (s=194) anne-baba ve çocuklardan oluşan çekirdek aile ortamında yaşamaktaydı. Antibiyotik kullanımıyla ilgili olarak annelerin en önemli bilgi kaynağı doktorlardı. Bilgilendirme öncesi %64,1 anne (s=143) sahip oldukları bilginin kaynağını doktorlar olarak belirtirken, bilgilendirme sonrası bu oran %77,6 (s=173) oldu (p=0,002). Katılımcıların %75,3'ü (s=168) antibiyotik olduğunu düşündüğü en az bir isim söyledi. Bilgilendirmeden bir ay sonra ise antibiyotik ismi söyleyen anne sayısı 203'e (%91,1) yükseldi (p=0,00). Bilgilendirme öncesi katılımcılardan %81,2'si (s=181) antibiyotik kullanım amacını doğru bilirken; bilgilendirme sonrası bu sayı (%89,7; s=200) anlamlı ölçüde artmıştı (p=0,019). Annelerin %91,9'u (s=205) reçetesiz antibiyotik kullanmadığını belirtti. Çalışmaya katılan annelerin 125'i (%56,1) antibiyotiği doktorun önerdiği süre kadar ve 212'si (%95,1) önerilen dozda kullandığını ifade etmişti. Bilgilendirme sonrasında bu oranlarda anlamlı bir değişiklik olmadı (p>0,05).
Sonuç:Annelerin çocuklarında antibiyotik kullanma üzerine bilgi ve uygulamaları genellikle yeterli görünmekle birlikte kısa bilgilendirme girişimi özellikle uygulamalar üzerinde etkili değildir. Aile hekimlerinin bu konuda duyarlı davranmaları, hastayla görüşme süreçlerinde bilgilendirme fırsatlarını değerlendirmeleri ve doğru eğitim uygulamaları geliştirmeleri gerekmektedir.Anahtar sözcükler: Antibiyotik, çocuklar, anneler, bilgi
SummaryObjective: In the use of antibiotics on children, knowledge and attitudes of parents' especially mothers' have great importance. Aim of this study is to investigate the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of mothers' on the use of antibiotics for children, and to determine the impact of short information.Methods: Study data were collected at November 2013 through questionnaires completed by 223 mothers with at least one child in pre-school age face to face. After using the questionnaire consist of sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge of antibiotics, the mothers' behavior and attitudes, brief information was given about the rational use of antibiotics. A month after the mothers surveyed over the same survey was conducted by telephone. SPSS 15.0 statistical program was used for evaluation of the data and frequency, chi-square and McNemar tests were performed. p <0.05 was considered statistically significant.
Results:The mean age of the 223 mothers participated in our study was 32.17±5.54. 41.3% of mothers (n=92) trained more than 12 years, 92.4% (n=206) were married and 87.0% (n=194) have nuclear family consisting of parents and children.
