Interventionelle Behandlung angeborener Herzfehler bei einem Körpergewicht bis 2500 Gramm

Abstract: Diagnostic cardiac catheterization and percutaneous transcatheter interventions can be performed with low mortality and acceptable morbidity in low weight infnats. Transcatheter interventions can replace surgery, postpone the necessity for surgery or stabilize the hemodynamic situation prior to surgery.

“…[1][2][3] It was first described in 1983 to 1984. 4,5 However, interventional heart catheterisation in low birth weight infants may be achievable, 6,7 but only a few cases of balloon valvuloplasty in infants weighing 1500 g or less are described in the literature 6,8 with an acceptable mortality but still moderate morbidity. Critical pulmonary valve stenosis with suprasystemic right ventricular pressure is an indication for therapeutic intervention to avoid severe right ventricular hypertrophy with involution of the right ventricular volume and continuous intravenous prostaglandin medication.…”
