“…Including partners in post-ICD psychological interventions improves outcomes for patients. 38 It is of note that most ICD patients are male, and most of their partners are female, which needs to be considered when comparing patient and control groups, as females typically have higher rates of depression and anxiety. Additionally, we did not investigate rates of mood disorders in partners of patients with cardiac disease, but without ICD (or other intervention), and included studies did not report rates of depression and anxiety in partners prior to implantation.…”

“…In this study, self-care self-efficacy (SSE) was shown to be positively correlated with ESE. Although evidence from studies on the direct relationship between SSE and ESE among people with ICD is sparse, some studies have shown that self-care confidence mediates the relationship between cognition and self-care behaviours [ 24 ], as well as patients’ physical and psychological health [ 41 ]. Additionally, this finding corroborates that of a systematic review, conducted by Kavradim (2020), which showed that patients with heart disease who have higher levels of SSE exhibited better disease management and exercise adherence [ 42 ].…”

“…36 Although CSEs have received less attention in the occupational health literature, meta-analytic reviews also have established the components of CSE as predictors of burnout, 26 and other research has shown that each of the components of CSE may be influenced by interventions. [37][38][39][40] The Present Study Because CSE, optimism, and mindfulness are conceptually related indicators of dispositional resilience, we sought to assess the relative contribution of each of these characteristics to predicting occupational health outcomes. We investigated five outcomes that reflect three important components of EM physicians' work experiences: fatigue, turnover intentions, and productivity.…”

“…Not surprisingly then, high CSE individuals also tend to perform better and have more positive perceptions of their work environment 36 . Although CSEs have received less attention in the occupational health literature, meta-analytic reviews also have established the components of CSE as predictors of burnout, 26 and other research has shown that each of the components of CSE may be influenced by interventions 37–40 …”
