Intervening in Complexity: A Developmental Theory of Climate Change

Abstract

I would like to thank Joe Rouse for being such a patient and knowledgeable advisor. There were many times when he would say, "I think what you are trying to say is that.. ." and all of a sudden I would realize with much greater clarity what it was I had been thinking about. In addition, my comments regarding Developmental Systems Theory, plasticity and norms of reaction were deeply informed by the time I spent discussing these subjects with my professor, Sonia Sultan. She is a truly gifted teacher and has forever changed how I think about biology. Finally, thank you to my friends and family who have fed me chocolate, listened to largely incoherent babble without comment and generally supported me despite the ungodly hours I spent working in the Sci Li basement.
