Abstract: The present results demonstrated that UP training produced superior gains in VO2max and LT in comparison with LO training, which may be associated with the higher t@VO2max.

“…5 Accordingly, it has recently been observed that the HIT session that elicits the highest time at high VO 2 induces the largest training adaptation. 7 A potential alternative to increase the stimulus during a HIT session is to add vibration to the exercise. Vibration is here defined as a mechanical stimulus that can affect the musculo-skeletal system by increasing the muscle activity.…”

“…During their second, third, and fourth visits, subjects performed 2 constant time-to-exhaustion (T LIM ) tests per day to determine I HIGH , T LOW , and CP and the finite work capacity above CP (W′). I HIGH and CP were designed for training prescription [38]. The fifth and sixth visits consisted of a WAnT and a 250-kJ laboratory time trial, respectively.…”

“…Both HIT groups trained 3 times per week for 4 weeks. In order to devise HIT, CP and I HIGH were determined first [38]. CP and W´ were estimated from 3 predictive trials in a random order, at intensities yielding T LIM between 3 and 9 min, and then calculated according to the linear model (P = [W′/T LIM ] + CP).…”
