Intertwined Carbon Nanotubes and Ag Nanowires Constructed by Simple Solution Blending as Sensitive and Stable Chloramphenicol Sensors

Abstract: Chloramphenicol (CAP) is a harmful compound associated with human hematopathy and neuritis, which was widely used as a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent in agriculture and aquaculture. Therefore, it is significant to detect CAP in aquatic environments. In this work, carbon nanotubes/silver nanowires (CNTs/AgNWs) composite electrodes were fabricated as the CAP sensor. Distinguished from in situ growing or chemical bonding noble metal nanomaterials on carbon, this CNTs/AgNWs composite was formed by simple solut… Show more

“…Furthermore, the LOD of CAP obtained by our electrode (by LSV technique) is better than refs 46 and 47, while in some cases it is comparable to them [48]. Influenced by the sensitivity of the measurement itself (LSV), the detection limits of our electrodes for CAP and DOX are somewhat higher than the results in some literatures [5, 6, 8, 18, 22].…”

“…To date, some techniques have been employed for the identification of CAP and DOX, including high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) [9,10], capillary electrophoresis [11], enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay [12], fluorescence [13,14], chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer [15], electrochemiluminescence [7,16] and electrochemistry [6,8,[17][18][19][20][21]. Among them, electrochemical method offers the advantages of simplicity, sensitivity and low cost in comparison with other methods.…”

“…The limit of detection (LOD) and sensitivity for the CAP determination at low-level concentration were estimated to be 1.04 nM and 5.0788 μA·μM –1 ·cm –2 , respectively, results worth comparing with the previously reported modified electrodes for CAP detection (Table ). ,, The reproducibility, cycle stability, and selectivity are significant factors for CAP sensors on Co–Fe 3 O 4 NS/GO/GCE. The reproducibility of CAP (200 μM) was examined in the presence of 0.05 M PBS (pH 4.5) at 50 mV/s on Co–Fe 3 O 4 NS/GO/GCE with different independent electrodes (Figure S5), showing excellent reproducibility.…”

“…Here, the author suggested a probable mechanism, i.e., AuNPs increase the electrode's conductivity and SWCNTs speed up the electrode's electron transfer rate for the detection of CP. Similarly, the CNT/silver nanowire electrode sensor was created by Zhu et al in 2021, 71 and used for the detection of CP. This sensor successfully detected CP in water samples with a lower limit of 0.08 mM and a wide linear range of 0.1-100 m M. It also displayed good reproducibility and repeatability.…”
