Interrogation system for a fiber-Bragg-grating strain sensor for automotive applications

Abstract: In this paper a derivative spectrometer, utilizing an FFP tunable filter for the wavelength shift detection and an electronic device for the signal processing, was realized and tested for data acquisition and elaboration from a fiber-Bragg-grating strain sensor system for automotive applications. The results of measurements carried out both under static and dynamic conditions have been compared with those performed with a strain gauge.
