Interpretive Structural Analysis of Interrelationships among the Elements of Characteristic Agriculture Development in Chinese Rural Poverty Alleviation

Abstract: Eradicating poverty is a strategic priority in the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals. This study intends to identify and quantify the elements affecting the Characteristic Agriculture Development (CAD) project implemented in area of Chinese poverty and reveals the interrelationships between those elements. First-hand data for the structural modeling were collected through semi-structured interviews with a group of selected experts. As a result, this study has identified seventeen representative elements… Show more

“…Therefore, two subscales were designed to measure the two attributes of agricultural products. In line with the accepted definitions of seasonality and locality, we developed these two measures using prior theoretical work on seasonality [71][72][73][74] and locality [75][76][77]. Before including the scale of agricultural product attributed in the present study, the scale and respective items were administered to an independent sample of rural entrepreneurial farmers who are utilizing livestreaming to promote their agricultural products.…”

“…Structural self-interaction matrix (SSIM) was prepared by aggregating the data collected from experts through ij part of the questionnaire. The data were aggregated by applying the rule “minority gives way to the majority” on every paired relation ( Sushil, 2012 ; Abdullah and Siraj, 2014 ; Dhochak and Sharma, 2016 ; Cai and Xia, 2018 ; Li et al, 2019 ), as shown in Table 2 .…”

“…Authors have to visit many times for briefing and apprising the experts in this regard. Responses were combined using the rule "minority gives way to majority" (Abdullah and Siraj, 2014;Dhochak and Sharma, 2016;Li et al, 2019;Cai and Xia, 2018;Sushil, 2012). The ISM is used as a technique of modeling and MICMAC for structural Determinants of effective whistle blowing analysis.…”
