Interpretation of the newly observed Ωc0 resonances

Abstract: We study the charmed and bottomed doubly strange baryons within the heavy-quark-light-diquark framework. The two strange quarks are assumed to lie in S wave and thus their total spin is 1. We calculate the mass spectra of the S and P wave orbitally excited states and find the Ω 0 c (

“…= 120 possible permutations if all five states are P -wave excitations of the ss diquark with respect to the charmed quark. Some more recent calculations [2][3][4][5][6] that appeared after the first version of this paper reach the same conclusion. In parentheses we note an alternative assignment if the two heaviest states are 2S excitations.…”

“…(The last paper treats only 2S levels, identifying the states at 3066, 3119 MeV as candidates for J P = 1/2 + , 3/2 + , respectively. In addition, simultaneously with or after the first version of the present paper, there appeared works which also identified the five observed Ω c states as 1P excitations of the (ss) diquark with respect to the charmed quark [2][3][4][5][6], and interpretations based on pentaquarks [28][29][30].) The authors of Ref.…”

“…While one may also expect that the next-to-lowest state in our model may correspond for the observed Ω c (3000) 0 , since once the values of coupling strength constants for Goldstone boson exchange are taken to be 0.9 times of the ones given in [19,21,22], the resulting energy for the next-to-lowest state is 2980 MeV, while the three higher states almost keep as what they are. The Ω 0 c resonances have also been investigated by using various of quark models [7,8,10,12,16] since the observation by LHCb collaboration. In [7,8,16], the Ω 0 c states are interpreted as system with one diquark and one charm quark, and the parities for all the five observed states are assigned to be negative, but with different spin quantum numbers.…”
