“…Studies were grouped according to surgical indications into ten categories: musculoskeletal tumours ( n = 16) [10–25], chronic ankle instability ( n = 15) [26–40], ankle arthritis ( n = 14) [41–54], osteochondral lesions of the talus ( n = 12) [55–66], Achilles tendon defects ( n = 11) [67–77], other tendon defects ( n = 9) [78–86], fusions ( n = 9) [87–95], fractures ( n = 8) [96–103], hallux rigidus ( n = 3) [104–106] and other indications ( n = 10) [107–116].…”

“…The authors reported results at 12 months, with the patient reporting "pain improvement" but still experiencing intermittent pain at "8 level." 1 Symptomatic nonunion of the talonavicular joint after arthrodesis is a difficult clinical problem, and management of a failed revision even more difficult. Definitive management of talonavicular joint nonunion after arthrodesis include double (talonavicular and calcaneocuboid) or triple arthrodesis.…”

“…Has been described the use of Graft Jacket (Wright Medical, Arlington, TN) as an interpositional allograft in combination with external fixation in ankle diastasis [31] and bovine collagen as a xenograft for the same purpose [26]. Recently, promising results have been reported in three cases using a cadaveric Achilles tendon allograft as a spacer for interposition arthroplasty of the ankle [2]. Kim described the use of fascia lata or fat as interposition tissue in 22 cases of subtalar arthritis following calcaneal fracture, with more than 90 % of good and excellent results [25].…”
