“…17 Meanwhile, in the valves of the CKD rat model, miR-29a was found to be decreased compared to CTL, which was consistent with previous studies in non-CKD VC diseases. [26][27][28] Besides, the miR-29a/b cluster was reported to suppress high glucose-induced EndMT in human retinal microvascular endothelial cells. 29 In this study, overexpression of miR-29a was shown to inhibit PTH-induced EndMT in the valves of CKD rats.…”

“…miR-214 is expressed widely in various tissues and cells, targeting a variety of genes involved in cancer development, the immune system, differentiation of skeletal muscle cells, protection of the heart from ischemic injury, and inhibition of angiogenesis 41, 42, 43, 44. Recently, it has received heightened interest, as it may function as both a diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for bone disease.…”

“…Regulation of Mitochondrial pathology associated genes may be of great merit for multiple disorders with damaged mitochondria as cardiac diseases, cancers and kidney diseases [1] . Present data is about the miRNAs regulation of mitochondrial apoptosis regulatory framework genes PUMA, DRP1 (apoptotic) and ARC (anti-apoptotic).…”

“…The data presented here showed non significant alteration at expression level and this does not imply that specific miRNA inhibitor strongly attenuates the other miRNAs and respective targets. Our recent studies showed that miR-15a and miR-214 inhibitors treatment leads to significant inhibition of their target miRNAs and enhanced the expression of respective genes PUMA and ARC by many folds [1] .
