Abstract: Circadian regulation of skin pigmentation is essential for thermoregulation, UV protection, and synchronization of skin cell renewal. This regulation involves both cell-autonomous photic responses and non-cell-autonomous hormonal control, particularly through melatonin produced in a light-sensitive manner.
