“…According to this study, EOR's relations with both e-promotion and e-distribution adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic are negative. It means that the companies with higher tendencies toward risktaking are simultaneously less likely to adopt e-promotion and e-distribution, although, as results from the literature show, firms with a higher propensity to take risks are also more likely to undertake different online solutions [Mathews et al, 2018]. The surprising conclusions with regard to the studied Polish companies may be due to that these medium-sized and large firms had already adopted e-promotion and e-distribution prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore had no need to implement such solutions during the ongoing pandemic and do not consider it from the prism of risk-taking.…”

“…According to the Resource Base Views (RBV) paradigm, MSEs' digitalization might be a resource to survive and be more sustainable (Bai et al 2021). The RBV theory states that every company can or already has resources and capabilities within their organization that can be developed and utilized as specific capabilities for the operation of functional activities and/or create competitive advantage (Bai et al 2021;Mathews et al 2018). According to this theory, an organization decides to adopt certain resources based on consideration of the benefits and risks that will be obtained (Mathews et al 2018).…”

“…On the other hand, strong business partnerships can minimize technology adoption and innovation (Mathews et al 2018). MSIs may believe that they do not require digital innovation (i.e., e-marketing and e-selling) since for marketing and selling products they already have partners who take care of it or buy all of their products.…”
